Sunday, April 10th, 2011, Chadds Ford Classic Bike Auction and Bunch Auction House was standing room only. Cycle enthusiasts of all breeds came out hoping to find a great deal or a rare bike to take home - and many did just that, me included. The large Harley collection did very well, highlights included a few Panheads, one of which was a hard tail springer that fetched over 10 G's. Al large Cushman collection was liquidated quickly. Two beautiful 68 Bonnies didn't hit their reserve, though the prices were pretty fair considering their condition. I landed an English "home-market" 77 Bonneville in original condition (6800 miles). It's in great shape, original paint and runs great. I plan on doing nothing else to it other than a tune up, some polishing and a whole lot of riding. I also nabbed a 68 Triumph bicycle in excellent original condition. Other than the bikes, the event was a social highlight for the spring. Old friends united, new friends were made, business cards exchanged - an excellent networking opportunity. Thanks to John Lawless for all his hard work for putting this huge event on year after year!
